March 2008 Exhibit
Jonas “Datah” Beaubrun
Jonas “Datah” Beaubrun is a new artist to the City Hall Galleries. His artwork will be exhibited through the month of March in the City Hall Art Gallery. His work demonstrates a technique that involves combining photographs with computer graphics.
Musician, artist, poet and more, Jonas ‘Datah’ Beaubrun
was born in Carrefour Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. He came to America at
the age of 6, and at a very early age developed a very strong sense
and craving for the arts. After graduating from Rollins
College where he received his Bachelors in Arts, he moved to the Maryland
where he participated in several recording projects such as “Project:
Live,” a Hopkins Center for Disparities Solutions awareness initiative.
Over the years Jonas has also worked in several capacities for TRiO
programs, particularly for the University of Maryland’s Upward
Bound Pre-College programs. To date, he is the Coordinator of Counseling
for the TriO program at Bowie State University. In addition, Jonas
is also the founder of J’Siah Studios LLC, which embodies both
visual and auditory arts. Lastly Jonas is also a working drummer/percussionist
in the Maryland/DC/VA area.
The City of Bowie is pleased to provide local artists with an opportunity to display and sell their artwork in the City Hall Art Galleries. The Galleries are located at Bowie City Hall, 2614 Kenhill Drive, Bowie, Maryland and are open weekdays from 8:30 AM –10 PM and on Saturdays, from 9 AM to 5 PM.
