Introduction to Genealogy Seminar

Thinking about researching your roots? Discovering your ancestral beginnings? Who DOES comprise your family tree – butcher, baker or candlestick maker?

Here’s your opportunity to get started finding out! The Prince George’s County Genealogical Society will host a free, one day seminar on Saturday, March 8, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Belair Mansion.

Experts from the Genealogical Society will discuss how and where to get started – sources, programs, repositories, obituaries, naturalization records, probates, and much more. The seminar will also cover research at the National Archives and online research. A visit to the Genealogical Society Library (one of the country’s finest small genealogy libraries!) will close the day.

If you’ve always promised yourself a look at your ancestors, don’t miss this chance to begin – with the professionals! Bring a brown bag lunch and discover your past. Admission is free, but pre-registration is required. Please call 301-262-2063 to reserve or for further information.

Belair Mansion is located at 12207 Tulip Grove Drive in Bowie. The Genealogical Society library is within walking distance at 12219 Tulip Grove Drive.
