Radio and Television Museum Extends Hours
The Radio and Television Museum in Bowie, MD now offers extended hours to visitors. Effective October 15, 2005, the museum will be open on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Located at 2608 Mitchellville Road in South Bowie (just off US 301/3 N/S) the museum allows visitors an opportunity to explore the evolution of radio and television. Featuring an extensive collection of vintage equipment, the museum counts a fabulous array of historical objects, including broadcast premium memorabilia, sound effects equipment (from DC’s famous Walker & Scott show), oatmeal box radios, early transistors and televisions, and lots of hands-on activities for kids amongst its offerings.
