The City of Bowie Arts Committee is hosting an art exhibition celebrating artwork curated by Bowie State University students, staff and faculty.
Come Enjoy the New Gallery Exhibit!
The Arts Committee is excited to announce the Bowie State University Exhibition at the Bowie City Hall Gallery that will be on display through May 20, 2023. The exhibit features over 40 pieces of art, which were chosen through a juried selection process by the City of Bowie Arts Committee. Most of the pieces come from students out of Bowie State’s Fine and Performing Arts Department, and the budding artists are eager to share their creative visions with the community. The exhibition features various mediums - photography, digital art, animation, painting, dance, digital art, ceramics and sculpture.

Gallery Information
The City of Bowie Arts Committee maintains art galleries on the first and second floors of Bowie City Hall. The galleries, named East Gallery and West Gallery, include hanging space for photography and paintings, and two display cases for three-dimensional artwork.
The Arts Committee changes the gallery, usually on a quarterly basis. The majority of the gallery exhibits are juried shows. Artists all over the metro DC-Baltimore area are eligible to participate in the juried shows. Typically the committee sends emails to artists in its database telling them of upcoming shows and including a flyer/entry form. Artists are then invited to submit digital images (jpegs) of their artwork, photography and/or paintings/sculpture, along with the entry form.
The Arts Committee juries the work and lets artists know which pieces are selected for the upcoming show. Artists interested in receiving information about upcoming shows should contact Lori Cunningham, staff liaison to the Arts Committee, at 240-544-5601 or email .
The galleries are open during regular business hours of City Hall at 15901 Fred Robinson Way (formerly Excalibur Road).
