Workforce Training Program

Free Workforce Training Program for Young Adults



The City of Bowie Office of Grant Development and Administration, in conjunction with Bowie Youth and Family Services, offers residents a free Workforce Development and Life Skills Training Program for youth and young adults between the ages of 15 and 25. The program provides free workforce readiness training, which includes a portion on life skills and another on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) career paths.

Program Dates



Module 1: Life Skills and STEM Careers, Tuesdays and Thursdays in April


Tuesdays for residents aged 15 - 17:

Session 1, Tuesday, April 6, starting at 6 pm
Life Skills: Goal-Setting
STEM Careers: Cybersecurity

Session 2, Tuesday, April 13, starting at 6 pm
Life Skills: Managing Time & Money
STEM Careers: Computer Programming

Session 3, Tuesday, April 20, starting at 6 pm
Life Skills: Managing Stress/Decision-Making & Risk
STEM Careers: Computer Science

Session 4, Tuesday April 27, starting at 6 pm
Life Skills: Effective Communication/Relationship Building
