The City of Bowie is offering garden spaces to the community for the purpose of growing and harvesting healthy and nutritious foods in a setting that fosters teamwork, sustainability, and a commitment to the environment.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing will be enforced when visiting the Community Garden. Please no groups in the garden at once, if you arrive and someone is already tending to their garden, please wait until they are finished and out of the area before entering.
Who Can Reserve a Garden Plot?
Plots are available to City of Bowie residents only.
One plot per household.
All plots will be awarded via a lottery selection on May 2.
Once all plots are allocated, additional applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
Should not all garden plots be spoken for, current plot owners will have an opportunity to apply for a second plot.
Applications can be dropped off at City Hall or mailed to 15901 Excalibur Rd. Bowie, MD 20716 attn: Sheri Beach. A payment must accompany the application. Mailed applications must be received by May 2 at 5 p.m. Plots will be assigned by lottery May 2, 2019 at 6:30 pm at the Kenhill Center. Those interested in picking their own plot location, may attend the meeting. Attendance does not guarantee an applicant a garden plot. Plot allotment is contingent upon the number of applications received.
