Are you looking to advance in your current career, enhance your skill sets, or want to switch careers to a more in-demand field? The City of Bowie’s new online skill development and worker training program can help you get started on a path to a promotion or a new career.

The City has partnered with online training company Coursera to provide free online training classes to Bowie residents to grow your job skills and earn industry-approved professional certificates. The Coursera online upskilling platform offers more than 5,000 courses leading to certificates in a variety of topics including business administration, project management, software development, and data analytics. These occupations and skills are in high-demand in a variety of growing industries in the State of Maryland and the nation, including IT, human resources, life skills, social services, and healthcare.

The program also includes Grow with Google certificates in the fields of IT, Data Analytics, Project Management, UX Design, and Digital Marketing & E-commerce.

The Coursera general program is currently full, but there are still slots available for the Grow With Google Certificates. We are accepting applicants for the waitlist for the Coursera program. Residents can apply online to get pre-approved for this free training opportunity for Bowie residents.
