Information Technology Committee

Mission of Committee

The Information Technology (IT) Committee advises the City Council on matters related to the use and operation of cable television, internet, and other Information technology related services in the city.

Purpose and Function

  • Serve as a forum for citizen input concerning information and technology matters.
  • Assure non-discrimination in public use of information and technology service.
  • Monitor legislative and technological trends in information and technology and advise the City Council thereon.
  • Interface with other area information and technology committees.
  • Assist and advise the City Council in reviewing local regulations and procedures deemed necessary to provide effective and efficient use of technology services for residents.


The Information Technology Committee consists of five members.

The Committee is governed by the rules and regulations for City Committees as adopted and amended by the City of Bowie Council.
