Bike Trails in Bowie
There are miles of trails in the Bowie area. The trails are not only for biking, but also for walking, horse back riding, or any mode of transportation other than motorized vehicles. Equestrians are permitted on all county trails/parks, unless otherwise specifically marked. Equestrians are allowed on the WB&A Trail. Bike to Work Day
The City of Bowie, in conjunction with the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA), organizes an annual event on the third Friday of May. Bowie has two pit stops for participants, one at City of Bowie Gym on Northview Drive/Health Center Drive and the other at the Old Town Bowie firehouse (#19). The event is free and all you have to do is register on the Bike to Work website in advance for a free t-shirt and other prizes.

In 2017, City staff completed an update of the public trail system inventory. The map linked below shows major City and County parkland and the public trail network consisting of the following types of trails:
