    April 20, 2018, 8:00 PM - 10:00 PM @ Bowie Playhouse

Lawrence Jameson makes his lavish living by talking rich ladies out of their money. Freddy Benson more humbly swindles women by waking their compassion with fabricated stories about his grandmother's failing health. After meeting on a train, they attempt to work together, only to find that this small French town isn't big enough for the two of them. They agree on a settlement: the first one to extract $50,000 from a young female target, heiress, Christine Colgate, wins, and the other must leave town. A hilarious battle of cons ensues that will keep audiences laughing, humming and guessing to the end!

  7. Bringing Back Birds and Butterflies: Helping Bowie, Helping the World

    April 27, 2018, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ City Hall Council Chambers

Recent studies show that insect populations have declined by about 80% over the last 25 years. On Friday, April 27th at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers at Bowie City Hall, come hear a free seminar on how each one of us can help to turn this problem around. Quality habitat, better than what is found in the wild, is easy to develop on small properties and enriches the lives of all who are present.

Desiree Narango will discuss the findings of a study looking at what native birds depend on for feeding their young, which almost exclusively is insects found on native plants. What is really exciting is that some of the research was done on private property in the City of Bowie!

The second part of the program will be a discussion by Dr. Dara Satterfield from the Smithsonian Migratory Bird Center who will look at creatures that migrate through our area.
