    A Christmas Carol recounts the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner Jacob Marley and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. After their visits, Scrooge is transformed into a kinder, gentler man. A Christmas Carol opens on a bleak, cold Christmas Eve in London, seven years after the death of Jacob Marley. Scrooge dislikes Christmas and refuses a dinner invitation from his nephew Fred—the son of Fan, Scrooge's dead sister.

  2. Paper Shredding & Styrofoam Recycling Event

    November 23, 2019, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Bowie High School parking lot

    The City of Bowie has scheduled a paper shredding and Styrofoam recycling event in the Bowie High School parking lot on Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 8 a.m. -2 p.m. Residents can bring up to five tall kitchen bags or five archive boxes for shredding. Documents may be observed while they are being shredded. Styrofoam must be free of any debris (glue or tape). Our last event held in June 2019 collected approximately 10 tons of paper and 40 pounds of Styrofoam.

  3. Holiday Arts & Crafts Market

    The City of Bowie Arts Committee's Annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Market is Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This year, the venue has been changed to the Bowie Senior Center to allow for more vendors and to provide a more comfortable shopping experience for guests. Funds raised through this project will go to support the City's Art Scholarship program.
