[ARCHIVED] Draft Annual Action Plan, FY 2017 available for Review and Comment: April 21st to May 5th

As an Entitlement Community under HUD’s federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, the City of Bowie solicits public participation in the development of the Annual Action Plan every fiscal year. A Public Hearing was held on Monday, April 14, 2016 at 7 p.m. and another Public Hearing is scheduled for May 16 at 8 pm during the City Council meeting at City Hall.

The Annual Action Plan provides the City’s planned programs and resource allocations for implementing the goals and objectives outlined in the Five Year Strategic Plan included in the Consolidated Plan for Community Development (Con Plan). The Con Plan identifies community needs and proposed solutions in the areas the following areas:

• Housing
• Special Needs
• Economic Development
• Non-Housing Community Development

The City’s CDBG program is the Senior Citizen “Green” Housing Rehabilitation. This program is available for all senior citizens throughout the City. Visit Senior Citizen “Green” Housing Rehabilitation to learn more about the program.

The Draft Annual Action Plan, FY 2017 is available for review and comment from April 21 to May 5, 2016 online, as well as at City Hall, the Bowie Senior Center, Bowie Public Libraries, and M-NCPPC Community Centers in Bowie.
