Horse Racing, the Police Department and Regional Cooperation are all on next Council Meeting agenda

City Council Meeting, Monday, March 18, 8 p.m. at City Hall


The Stronach Group, which owns Pimlico, Laurel Park, and the former Bowie race track site is proposing to make major changes to horse racing in Maryland. Among other things, they would like to  make Laurel the premier venue for major horse racing events in Maryland and make the Bowie site a state-of-the-art horse training and equine health center.They will brief the City Council on the their plans. Also on the agenda is a briefing by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and an update by the Bowie Police Department.


The public is invited and encouraged to attend this meeting. The meeting can also be viewed live on the Bowie Government channel (Verizon 10/Comcast 71 & 996-HD) or on the City website at www.cityofbowie.org/viewmeetings.
