Bowie Opens Community Garden for Residents
The City of Bowie is pleased to announce the official opening of its first Community Garden at the Kenhill Center. Garden spaces are offered to Bowie residents for for the purpose of growing and harvesting healthy and nutritious foods in a setting that fosters teamwork, sustainability, and a commitment to the environment. City residents are able to lease garden plots to grow plants, vegetables, and herbs for their own use.
8x8 foot plots are $40 per year and 5x8 foot plots are $2 per year. Water is available at the garden site.The City will gladly accept donations of tools and other garden equipment for gardeners to use. For information, contact Sheri Beach at 301-809-3086 or sbeach@cityofbowie.org.
The community garden is at the rear of the Kenhill Center, located at 2614 Kenhill Drive.
