South Lake is a mixed-use community proposed on 381.52 acres located in the southwestern quadrant of the U.S. Route 301/MD Route 214 (Central Avenue) interchange. The project includes: several types of dwelling units; recreational amenities and a clubhouse for residents; office/retail space; and, three hotels. Detailed Site Plan #DSP-19023, which is the subject of the City’s upcoming public hearings, proposes to construct a portion of this project that will include: 1,035 residential dwelling units (344 single-family detached units, 563 townhouse units and 128 condominium units); and, a 5,272+/- sq. ft. clubhouse, trails and other recreational amenities on 282.97 acres.
Public hearings for this Detailed Site Plan will be heard by the Bowie Advisory Planning Board (BAPB) on Tuesday, November 12th at 7 p.m., and by the Bowie City Council on Monday, December 2nd at 8 p.m. Both hearings will take place in the Council Chambers in Bowie City Hall, located at 15901 Excalibur Road, Bowie.
