[ARCHIVED] Kick off Your Memorial Day Weekend at Bowie's Parade on Saturday, May 25 at 11 a.m.

CITY OF BOWIE'S MEMORIAL DAY PARADE

Excitement is building for the City of Bowie’s parade taking place during Memorial Day weekend, on Saturday, May 25th beginning at 11 a.m.

The streets will be filled with music and we will proudly rally around the red, white, and blue. The City dedicates this parade to all the brave Americans who have proudly served their country.

The parade, held rain or shine, will begin at the Bowie High School Annex on Belair Drive. Participants will march down Belair Drive and continue to Sussex Lane. Once Sussex Lane is reached, the parade will turn right and continue to Stonybrook Drive and make another right. The parade will travel past the Bowie Community Center and turn left onto Sage Lane, finishing in the Market Place Shopping Center parking lot. Food and drink concessions will be available at Acorn Hill Park, and Sussex Lane Park for the convenience of those watching the parade. The parade can be viewed from Sussex Lane Park on Sussex Lane or near the Bowie High School Annex, as well as Acorn Hill Park.

Parade entries include The Lone Ranger, Uncle Sam Stilted Walker, The United States Army Fife and Drums, John F. Nicoll Pipes and Drums, The Bowie High School Marching Bands, Eleanor Roosevelt Pep Band, Panquility Steel Drum Band, dancers, baton tweeters, antique cars, marching units, and more.

Due to the parade the following streets will be blocked:
Belair Drive from the Bowie High School Annex to Route 450
Sussex Lane
Stoneybrook Drive from Sussex Lane to Sage Lane
Sage Lane
