The City’s Office of Grant Development & Administration and the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity Office) asks you to join us as we celebrate the 53rd Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act for the 2021 Fair Housing Symposium. The theme of this year’s National Fair Housing Month is Fair Housing: More Than Just Words.
Due to emergency declarations related to the coronavirus (COVID-19), the City’s 2021 Fair Housing presentation is online (virtual) and supplemental resources will be made available on the City’s website at www.cityofbowie.org/fairhousing. April is National Fair Housing month and the City joins the nation in this celebration of equal housing opportunities for all.
Who Should Attend the Presentation: Code Enforcement Officers, Law Enforcement Officers, City and County employees, realtors, property management firms, homeowner associations, and all persons interested in housing protections and affordability for veterans, persons with disabilities, families, and others, including any citizen interested in learning more about Fair Housing laws and protections.

Manuel T. Ochoa has over 25 years’ experience in urban planning, housing, and community development. Manuel is Principal and Founder of the Ochoa Urban Collaborative. Before founding Ochoa Urban Collaborative, Ochoa has been a leader in community and economic development with a unique mix of experience in federal and local government, as well as national non-profits. Manuel assisted in the development of the 2020-2025 PGC/Bowie AI and is a consultant on the MWCOG Regional AI team.
