April is National Fair Housing Month. The City of Bowie’s Office of Grant Development & Administration is hosting several educational events during the month. Activities will focus on the rights and obligations under the Fair Housing Act, as well as affiliated state and local statutes and ordinances.

On April 8, 2015, there will be a Fair Housing Roundtable Discussion with experts on Fair Housing policies, laws, enforcement, and affordable housing development and advocacy. It will be aired on the Bowie’s Government Channels (10 Verizon and 71 Comcast), as well as Bowie’s Community Public Access Channel (11 Verizon and 77 Comcast). We encourage tenants, landlords, homebuyers, homeowner association managers, real estate brokers, and rental property managers to view the discussion, and residents to view the presentation. The one-hour session will be rebroadcast throughout the month of April. In addition, The City will also broadcast several educational public services announcements on Bowie’s public access stations.
