[ARCHIVED] Public Hearing Sept. 8th on Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report

As an Entitlement Community under HUD’s federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, the City of Bowie solicits public participation in the development of the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report every fiscal year. Public hearings are scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at 7 p.m. and during the City Council meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 8 p.m. Both public hearings will be held at City Hall.

The Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) provides a yearly accounting of CDBG and other funds allocated towards the implementation of the goals and objectives outlined in the Five Year Strategic Plan included in the Consolidated Plan for Community Development (Con Plan). The Con Plan identifies community needs and proposed solutions in the areas the following areas:
• Housing
• Special Needs
• Economic Development
• Non-Housing Community Development

The City’s CDBG program is the Senior Citizen “Green” Housing Rehabilitation. This program is available is available for all senior citizens through the City.Visit Senior Citizen “Green” Housing Rehabilitation to learn more about the program.

The Draft Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report, (year-ending) FY 2015 is available for review and comment from August 7, 2015 to September 4, 2015 online, as well as at City Hall, Bowie Senior Center, Bowie Public Libraries, and M-NCPPC Community Centers in Bowie.
