Join Chris Haley, from the Maryland State Archives, in a discussion about slavery and race - how to talk about it, our perceptions, and the long history involved in the topic. Mr. Haley, nephew of author Alex Haley, has been long involved in documenting the history of slavery and the Underground Railroad in Maryland. His presentation will offer insights on how museums, educators, and the general public can address a difficult part of our Nation's - and our State's - history. The lecture is free; reservations are requested. If you'd like to stay for post-lecture discussion, feel free to bring a brown bag lunch. Beverages will be provided. Please call 301-809-3089 to register.
