  1. 2019 Memorial Day Parade

    May 25, 2019, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ The parade begins at the Belair Annex to Bowie High School and marches down Belair Drive to Sussex Lane and then on to Stonybrook Drive.

    Come out and help us honor and salute our country's brave service members and veterans at our annual Memorial Parade, which will feature a variety of floats, bands, performers, and organizations. The procession will begin the at the Bowie High School Annex and end at Acorn Hill Park at the corner of Stonybrook Drive and Sage Lane.

  2. Bowie Farmers' Market

    May 26, 2019, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Bowie High School Parking Lot

    Our annual Farmers' Market is now open! It operates every Sunday until October 26 from 8 a.m. to noon in the parking lot at Bowie High School. Visitors will find a broad selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, breads and baked goods, jams and jellies, cuts of beef and goat meat, ice cream, fresh cut flowers, and bedding plants. The participating vendors maintain a Facebook page where you can find the latest information about their offerings.

  3. Summer Concert at Allen Pond Park - US Navy Band Commodores (jazz)

    May 26, 2019, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Allen Pond Park

    Each Sunday evening from Memorial Day weekend until Labor Day weekend, enjoy a concert at the Robert V. Setera Amphitheater at Allen Pond Park. *Concerts are canceled in the case of inclement weather. Because summer storms often pass through quickly, decisions about concert cancellations will not be made until right before the concert is scheduled to take place. Notices about cancellations will be posted on the home page of this website and on the City's Facebook page and Twitter feed.

  5. Senior Information Fair 2019 Day 1- Wiser Together: Inter-generational Partnerships

    May 29, 2019, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Bowie Senior Center

    The focus of this year’s Information Fair is to provide valuable resources and information so that older adults, families, friends, and the community can partner together as we address many issues and make wise choices for aging well. This will be an Intergenerational Partnership event and we welcome the entire community to become Wiser Together! Kicking off this event on May 29, 2019 – 10am until 2pm AARP will present “What They Had” a movie written and directed by Elizabeth Chomko. Free and open to the public! Popcorn & water served! Q & A after watching movie, there will be professionals who are trained in Dementia and Alzheimer’s to address many questions and concerns. Don’t miss this event, it is going to be supremely rewarding and memorable in every way.

    Our first stop will be at Sunrise Soaps. Browse around this store to see which soap, lotion or other body product you would love to have! Next, step through the doors of the historic Red Brick Bakery building and right away you’ll know you’re someplace special. Enjoy a light lunch of tea sandwiches, scones and petite desserts with hot tea and shop at the bakery for take home treats. On our return trip we’ll stop at Brown’s Orchard & Farms to shop for fresh produce, jams, greenhouse items and more. Be prepared for the walk associated with shopping.
