  1. Community Shredding and Styrofoam Recycling Event

    June 23, 2018, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ Bowie High School Parking Lot

Residents can safely dispose of old bank statements, tax returns, credit card applications and other personal documents they no longer need at Bowie’s Community Shredding Event on Saturday June 23, 2018, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot at Bowie High School. At the same event, hard Styrofoam of the type used in the packaging of electronics will also be collected and recycled. This popular and free event provides an opportunity to get rid of documents that may be of a sensitive nature that people just don’t want to throw away or recycle. Residents can just drive through and drop off their papers or they can park and watch while their items are shredded. Up to five kitchen sized trash bags or five boxes will be accepted per carload. There is no need to remove paper clips or staples from the documents. Styrofoam must be free of tape and glue.
