Food Banks in Prince George's County

Interfaith Food Pantry

Food Pantry BannerThe Bowie Interfaith Pantry and Emergency Aid Fund is a community-based social services program that assists with respect, dignity and without discrimination, those in need in our community. It provides emergency food to those in Bowie and Prince George’s County, and offers financial assistance to residents of the City of Bowie. If the Pantry is unable to meet a need, it will make referrals.

The Pantry is located in a blue building behind the Kenhill Center at 2614 Kenhill Drive. Pick up hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. Clients must drive up, wear a mask, check in and have their trunk open for volunteer to load groceries. An appointment is required for the first visit.

Prince George's County Public Schools Meal Delivery and Pick Up

Student Meals BannerFree meals are available for all children up to 18 years old on Mondays and Wednesdays between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. (except holidays) at designated meal distribution sites and community locations. Children picking up meals do not have to show any form of identification. Adults picking up meals without children should show a student ID or most recent report card to support the number of meals requested.

Bowie Emergency Food Assistance Program

Grants Food Drive BannerThe City of Bowie will be distributing emergency food aid to city residents at five food distribution events across the City this autumn through a CARES Act grant.

Food will be distributed from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. (or until all food is gone.) All food will be non-perishable and include ingredients for a selection of meals. Volunteers, wearing masks and gloves, will load food into vehicles and staff will gather information from residents in their cars; residents will not exit their vehicles.

Only City of Bowie residents are eligible for this program. Residents will be required to provide ID and a piece of mail with a Bowie address on it to qualify for assistance. Please check to make sure your address is within City of Bowie limits.

Senior Meals Nutrition Program

Senior Meals BannerThe Prince George's County Senior Nutrition Program's mission is to promote the meal program, nutrition education, as well as social, recreational, and educational opportunities for older adults.

The Home-Delivered Meal program provides meals to homebound older adults within the community, with the intent of assisting the resident with remaining in their own home. A hot meal is delivered to the older adult's door five days a week. Homebound meals will continue to be delivered to those registered for the program.

Grab and Go meal distribution events for seniors are happening regularly throughout Prince George's County. Call 301-446-3403. 

Stand Up and Deliver is a meal distribution program being handled through a partnership between Prince George's County and the United Way. Call 3-1-1 for more information about upcoming events and locations.
